Chemical Safety Engineer / Specialist (m/w/d) (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Take charge of the safety management of the entire life cycle of chemicals
- Supervise the compliance of procurement, transportation, storage, collection, use, and scrapping processes
- Develop management regulations and operation instructions related to chemical storage, collection, transportation, use, and scrapping and establish the corresponding personnel on-the-job training and assessment mechanism
- Establish the hardware facilities for chemical safety management in the laboratory and support the daily management of chemicals used in the laboratory
- Identify and understand laws and regulations related to chemicals, and implement the legal and compliant management of chemicals in the laboratory
- Organize the risk level assessment and determination of chemicals, and establishing a sound safety control plan for hazardous chemicals, including chemical accident emergency plans
- Improve continuously the chemical safety inspection and assessment plan
- Investigate potential safety hazards in the whole life cycle of chemicals, organizing special discussions on potential safety hazards, formulating rectification plans, and tracking the improvement and elimination of potential hazards
Profile
- Successful completion study in Bachelor or higher education in Chemistry or Safety Engineering related major (apprenticeship is welcome)
- Over 3 years of experience in chemical management in chemical plant and/or semiconductor plant; experience in EHS, Certified Safety Engineer, or Chemical Safety Assessment is preferred
- Strong understanding of the chemical process, production, testing, and quality control of semiconductor related chemicals;
- Knowledge in characteristics of different chemicals and risk control points
- Active, independent, discreet work habits and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; German is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural & interdisciplinary teams with strong Chinese backbone
