Open Banking API Engineer (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of the Open Banking API framework
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API requirements and ensure alignment with business goals
- Oversee the transition from file transfer protocols to API-based communication, ensuring minimal disruption to clients
- Maintain and enhance the existing secure transport platform to support new API functionalities
- Provide comprehensive support and training to clients during the migration process
- Develop and enforce security protocols to safeguard data integrity and privacy
- Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system efficiency
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and best practices
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Well-founded experience in API development, implementation, and management, preferably in the financial sector
- Strong understanding of Open Banking standards and protocols Experience with secure transport technologies (e.g., SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS)
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and security standards (e.g., GDPR, PSD2)
- Experience with Microservices, OpenShift, and Kubernetes (K8s) is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German
