Python Developer Bioinformatic Protein and Molecular Biology Tools (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Engage regularly with protein scientists (the primary users of the tool)
- Understand and address their needs for the tool effectively
- Expand the tool's features, including the implementation of a protein partitioner that fragments proteins based on structural or homology information, facilitating more efficient protein engineering processes
Profile
- University degree in bioinformatics, medical informatics, computer science or comparable qualifications
- Hands-on experience or strong understanding in molecular cloning or protein engineering technologies
- Proficiency in Python, experience in packages such as BioPython, Pandas, and Jupyter Notebook advantageous
- Familiarity with programmatically querying protein databases such as UniProt, PDB, and AlphaFoldDB
- Experience in creating scripts/tools for users with minimal coding experience or familiarity with terminal (Unix environment)
