Senior Scientist R&D Life Science (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Conception and implementation of feasibility studies to demonstrate proof-of-principle of newly developed hardware in the field of Life Science Mass Spectrometry
- Ensure high experimental quality and deep theoretical understanding throughout all stages of product development, from research to serial production
- Embrace and overcome complex or novel challenges by developing effective solutions and execution strategies highlighting your problem-solving abilities
- Collaborate closely with your colleagues to create control software for hardware components emphasizing your teamwork and collaboration skills
- Playing an important role in the product development process, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation
- Collaboratively apply principles, rules, and strategies related to intellectual property when drafting invention disclosures, patents, publications, and presentations, ensuring the protection of innovative ideas and technologies
- Serve as a representative of the company by positive and productive interactions with external customers and collaborators
Profile
- Demonstrate first years industrial or academic experience (Ph.D.) in development of sophisticated analytical instrumentation or related technologies showcasing your expertise and dedication in the field
- Showcase experience in the field of mass spectrometry or other electron / ion optical techniques would be highly appreciated
- Possess strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently and structured in a detailed scientific manner
- Effective and efficient in designing and implementing automated instrument tuning routines using Python or other scripting languages
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electronic components, highlighting your ability to work with and resolve technical challenges
- Prior experience in instrument control, scripting and mass spectrometry applications is appreciated
- Emphasize your strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different work dynamics while maintaining a structured and detailed scientific approach
