Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the team to create and deliver end-user manuals, guides, and online help using modular writing and reuse strategies
- Contributes to globally deliverable content in 27+ languages, adhering to Simplified Technical English, Global Visual Design Standards, and Localization Best Practices
- Develops complex visual representations, icons, and symbols to support documentation and user interfaces
- Gathers and analyzes information from cross-functional teams and customer feedback to develop accurate and user-friendly documentation
- Improves documentation quality through feedback and usability testing
- Updates and converts unstructured FrameMaker documents to structured formats
- Manages daily work and project assignments with on-time delivery
- Prepares and proofs final documentation for various media (print, online, CD-ROM)
Profile
- A BA/BS with minimal experience or solid experience creating technical drawings for technical publication documentation
- An understanding of pre-press production and printing is beneficial
- A background in drafting or engineering documentation is necessary
- Ability to turn complex, technical concepts into easy to use illustrations
- Experience in the use of CorelDraw! or CorelDesigner, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat Suite
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (specifically with formatting charts and Graphs)
- Knowledge of Frame Maker is beneficial
- Basic experience in the use of Solid Works (or comparable level CAD systems). Basic ability to manipulate solid models and/or 3D images
- Understanding of how to create complex isometric assembly drawings from scratch using CAD data or by scaling the actual parts
- Knowledge of DITA – XML and content management system knowledge
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble instruments to create installation and maintenance information
