Challenge: 

Bertelsmann set itself the goal of standardising and optimising the processes surrounding the procurement of external IT specialists in order to identify inefficiencies and potential for improvement. To meet this challenge, the goal was to select a new, reliable full-service provider with an efficient vendor management system (VMS). The yardsticks for success were transparency, compliance, delivery capability, speed of response and reduced costs, while at the same time replacing the previous MSP partner. In addition, the main focus was on the department heads, as they often had to implement short-term process changes in the past.

Realisation:

At the heart of Hays' MSP programme in collaboration with Bertelsmann is the on-site team, which works directly at the customer's premises. The short distances to the stakeholders significantly support the success and high level of satisfaction.

Conclusion

Thanks to the customised MSP solution from Hays, we succeeded in replacing an existing MSP programme including VMS in live operation. Despite initial scepticism, we were able to win over the department heads to the new programme.

This further development led to a considerable reduction in individual workloads and staffing times. Important success factors were the prudent introduction through targeted change management methods, a high degree of solution-orientation with practical approaches, the demand-oriented expansion of the service and the introduction of a comprehensive quality gate for temporary employment contracts, which was extended to other Group divisions.
