Figures & facts about the collaboration

Key Facts
Staffing rate increased to 98%
8.6% cost savings
Challenge:

The pharmaceutical company was looking for a neutral partner to optimise its procurement management and automate the management of purchasing and external personnel resources. This new service provider was not to provide its own specialised staff, but rather handle the processes for the suppliers as a neutral vendor. The introduction of a managed service programme (MSP) that was familiar with the legal framework in Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Poland was desired. Another important aspect was support with the implementation of a vendor management system (VMS).

Implementation and optimisation by Hays:

Together with the pharmaceutical group, Hays implemented a Neutral Vendor Programme in the areas of IT and life science in 2015, supported by the SAP Fieldglass vendor management system. Since then, a ten-strong team from Hays has managed all procurement processes on site:

Das Team verantwortet folgende Bereiche:

Enquiries
From requests for external personnel resources to invoicing.
Onboarding/offboarding
All processes relating to onboarding and offboarding are managed efficiently.
Supplier management
Development of new concepts to optimise supplier management and compliance.
Customised reporting
Detailed information on procurement volumes, savings, deployment and costs of external personnel is available at all times.

Conclusion

Hays controls the procurement and management of external personnel resources for the pharmaceutical group. As an MSP partner, Hays has centralised the procurement processes, made them more transparent and faster and at the same time reduced costs. Our team acts as a central point of contact for customers and suppliers.

A particular highlight of the programme is the ability to adequately fill niche skills in the pharmaceutical industry in addition to typical IT skills. In this way, we guarantee customised support for the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical company!
