Responsible behaviour

Representation
of interests
at Hays

At Hays we are committed to a responsible approach to democratic processes that benefit our society in a tangible way. The fundamental values of democracy are closely linked to us as a company. That is why it is important to us to engage in an objective and topic-related approach and exchange with politics.

We take part in political and societal discussions, are committed to associations and contribute suggestions and viewpoints to legislative projects or those of ministries and other government agencies, provided that the flexibility of companies is affected. We handle our interests transparently and act on the basis of our value concept.

Democracy and diversity are values practiced both internally and externally. As an international company, we promote equal opportunities because it is a matter of course for us and enriches us. We are committed to a respectful coexistence and stand against anti-semitism, racism and populism.

The Public Affairs unit

To support the political dialogue, Hays established a representative office in Berlin in 2013. In addition, the Hays AG is registered in the lobby register of the German Bundestag and has signed the corresponding code of conduct for lobbyists of the German Bundestag, which is in line with our own values.

With our Public Affairs unit, we bring many years of practical experience and knowledge as a recruitment company to the political dialogue. We are committed to a sustainable, diverse, flexible and multi-layered job market because we are convinced that all forms of working models are necessary in an agile and modern working world. This requires the right framework. With this in mind, we engage in discussions with members of parliament, ministries and authorities, business representatives and academia, among others.

Mandates and memberships

Hays is a member of various associations, organisations and initiatives, including the “Forum Flexible Arbeit” and “Zeitarbeit sichert Pflege” initiative. We are also a founding and board member of the Bundesverband selbstständige Wissensarbeit e.V. and a member of the Gesamtverband der Personaldienstleister e.V. (GVP). Hays is also a member of Charta der Vielfalt e.V. and has been a member of the World Employment Confederation (WEC) based in Brussels, Belgium, since 2025.

Employee commitment

As a company, Hays assumes social, societal and political responsibility and acts in accordance with its corporate values. Contacts and touchpoints with those involved in the political discourse are generally made by Hays employees. Hays employees are obliged to make it clear at all times whether they are acting as a representative of the company or as a private individual. We encourage our employees to get involved. In this context, Hays does not pursue any interests as a company.
